Fix Power Window Off Track

Okay, so maybe it's not so bad. It's actually fixed better than ever now, but the last three hours have not been fun.My front windows have always been noticeably slower in the winter. I keep putting off lubricating the tracks, etc. And today I paid for it. I was pulling up to the greeter at the car wash and same story as always- window goes down painfully slow.

Funny thing is though I tried to do the same thing to my Isuzu Trooper and it did not make a difference at all, lol. Older Honda's are known for having horrendous window motors.I replaced one of the motors in my GS-R. The other one was still perfect at 215K when I passed the torch. But yeah, that driver's side one went out at like 100K.

You want to see a toll booth operator get freaked out? Don't replace your window motor when it breaks so you have to stop.before. the toll booth and run at them waving money, so they know it's not a gun. I did that for months.

E36 drivers window off track and field

I've dealt with this numerous times. Mostly because of a cracked regulator that was flexing and the rubber piece of track behind the door actuator sliding down into the bottom of the door because it would stick to the window. Then the lift arms would pop out of the slide clips.I replaced the regulator (PITA) and the outer window seal.

Glued the one piece of track in that kept moving, replaced the slide slips, and lubed everything. Less wind noise and a perfectly functioning window.

It works beautifully. Except my window tint got messed up.

Except my window tint got messed up.This sounds like a.huge. pain. Glad mine wasn't that bad.And Nipps, thanks for the link. That sheds a lot more light on the source of the binding, as well as explains why it gets so much worse in the winter.
