1. Helicon Remote Tutorial

Helicon Remote Description from Publisher:Helicon Remote is a utility for tethered shooting and camera remote control compatible with all recent Nikon and Canon DSLR cameras (except for D3000 / D3100 / D3200 / D3300, full list below). I'm using Sony Z5 premium (android 6.0.1) and Nikon D7200 I had some trouble connecting to the camera but after changing the name of the camera WiFi and changing the ip-adress using Nikons own application I uninstalled the Nikon app and helicon connected just fine. After very limited use of the free version I think I'll buy the whole program when I have money again. But it would be great if I didn't have to remove the Nikon app or if I didn't need it to control the WiFi settings on the camera. Works perfect with canon 650D.

I got my camera when it came out and an ipad2 at the same time and they both still work fine but to connect them it would cost about £200 for some special dongal thing, now I picked up an android tablet and found this app and it is perfect. It is a large liveview monitor with touch controles, perfect for photos or videos it has exposure, and focus and preset focus and the option to save files on the camera or on your device. And as it's free it's better than perfect, although I did have to fork out £1 to get the cable. This works with Nikon D5100 and Lenovo 10inch android tablet. You need otg adapter and a USB cable which came with your camera.

You tablet will work as viewfinder/ LCD monitor flawlessly. You can take pictures or record video through tablet screen. Have to explore other features yet. I want to play recorded video on tablet.

Didn't find this feature in this app but can play through gallery I guess. Development team good job!! Please explain somewhere how to use focus stacking. I m not clear on that.

NOTE: Nearly all connection issues are related to this and can be fixed: If you still have problems, please email support@camranger.com Using CamRanger hardware (purchased separately from CamRanger.com) wirelessly control your Nikon or Canon DLSR camera! (Also compatible with iOS, Mac and PC) The CamRanger is a wireless tethering system that can also act as a wireless file transmitter. The first of its kind, no other computers or Internet needed! Just connect your camera to the CamRanger and then control wirelessly from your Android device, or optionally take photos from the camera with the photos transmitted to the Android device.

Good idea poor execution The product itself is ok but the interface and set up for work flow is poor. You need to run different apps on your pc to configure it and they dont work.

They crash are buggy and blocked by FIrewalls. Dont even think about connecting the device to another wifi network. You can only use it if you can connect to its wifi network which means you can comnect your smart device to the internet at the same time.

Why you can't connect directly via a web browser to configure it is beyond me. Good idea poor execution The product itself is ok but the interface and set up for work flow is poor. You need to run different apps on your pc to configure it and they dont work.

Helicon remote download

The download will suddenly become super slow and the client was unable to view. Ended have to restart the application each time. Also the application sometime will stop working on its own. But when i reach home and tested it again the download was back to normal.

However any rapid shooting will cause it to hang. Desperate need a version that support Sony E mount system. Because that is the next camera for me.
